6th Grade Graduation
May 21, 2014

Your beautiful daughter the morning of her 6th Grade Graduation

She is such a sweet girl.

Madelyn and her favorite kitty!

Principal Aude, Vice Principal ??, Coach Hall, Mark

Isaac introduced the speaker, Mark Jackson

He's very entertaining and really connects to the kids.

Veronica forgot her camera and asked me to get a picture of Lexie.  So pretty.

A hug from her 'favorite' teacher....

Accepting her awards from Dan

The pictures she picked out for the slideshow - feeding lettuce to Grace and a silly pic with her hero.

See the girl in front of Madelyn?  This is Jessie.  When Mr J read her information, he misread and said, "She likes to shoot her bow and arrow at chickens."  The crowd laughed for a LONG time when he said that, and Jessie was so embarrassed.

Madelyn & Madison

Madelyn was very excited that Gran came to her graduation.

Madelyn & Lexie

It was a nice ceremony, much more than I expected.  We hate that you weren't there!  But she's already told you about it, you've seen the pledge video, and now you can see the pictures.  Next up - beach pics.  That may take a while....

LOVE YOU!!!!  STAY SAFE!!!!!!

A Day in the Life 2 - trip to MS

Hey Hotness!!  Let me try to catch you up, even though you've probably heard and seen all of this already.

First are the pictures taken at Ray & Donna's.

Madelyn holding Alaina

Tracie was just a little bit jealous.

Cole was in a bad mood Saturday.  He had just gotten out of time-out and was still mad about it.

Madelyn and Brittany

Sweet Tracie...

Now for the crawfish boil.  The food was delicious - crawfish, shrimp, potatoes, corn, sausage - absolutely wonderful!!

 Don't they look yummy????

This one had some monster big claws...

but I had already eaten him so I had to re-attach his butt for the picture.

Allow me to introduce you to Clyde.

I wondered why this name sounded so familiar.  When I was looking through some old texts trying to find something after the trip, I noticed that we called Sonya's dad Clyde that weekend he drove over the mailbox.  Too funny!!

Sweet Lexi went to Rebecca's car to fetch her box of wine.  Yep, her Box Of Wine.  Which she drank out of a water bottle with a straw.  That girl is strange with a capital RANGE.  HAHA!!

These are the kinds of pictures we end up with when Madelyn and Lexi are tasked with photography:

I think at some point there was some twerking going on, or at least it seemed so from some of the pictures.  I thought it best not to include those.

See....I told you he did nothing but sleep.

Your Girls

Sonya & Rick

He asked me to thank you for your service.  He really likes you.  And now I'm reminded of the picture from Labor Day when he kissed you.  I need to dig that out and post it!!

Good Morning!!
Sonya made us waffles.  She highly recommends owning a waffle iron.  They were pretty good I must say.  However, last weekend when Madison was here I made Bisquick pancakes and I thought they were better.  Now I need a griddle.

Lexi's weenus was hurting.  Wait, no it wasn't, you feel no pain in your weenus.  Hmmmm, not sure what she was doing here.  I guess she was just showing off her weenus.

Momma Jean said to tell you she loves you.

These ladies are nuts.

.......nothing but legs.......

Madelyn did not take many pictures of Zach.  In fact, I believe this was one of only two.

She said the water was COLD!!!!

These were the faces I got when they asked me to take them to Starbucks.

These were the faces I got when I said yes.

Everyone missed seeing you and said to tell you they love you and thank you for what you are doing.  You are loved by so many people!!!  Especially me!!  Goodness gracious, Madelyn just rolled over and took over half of my half of the bed, almost knocked the computer off my lap.  Come on Summer Time - when she will retire to the bonus room and I can have our bed back.

Closing this one out.....if I can stay awake I'll post graduation pics but no promises, it's after midnight here....LOVE YOU!!!!!

A Day In The Life

Hey Hotness!!  Just wanted to share a few things that we did this weekend, include you in what's going on here in a way.  We'll think of others, but right now - welcome to A Day In The Life!

Our Day In the Life begins with your beautiful daughter getting ready to go to the Biscuits ballgame.  She loves taking selfies in the bathroom.  That doesn't sound right, but she does!  Isn't her hair beautiful?  She has it in pigtails with some bangs pulled loose and curled.  She sure is a cute thing.

And we're off to see the Biscuits play!!  And lose horribly!!

Military Appreciation Night - new recruits taking their vows.

21  Gun  Salute

This is what Madelyn did during much of the game - played on my phone!!

Madelyn likes to pose with notable celebrities:

Miss Gravy, the Biscuits' addition to the mascot line-up
The live pig is way cuter.

The Air Force Blow-Up Recruiter
And the Stricklands of Millbrook, Alabama, dressed in their Biscuits' blue & butter!!

Madelyn enjoyed some tasty nachos for dinner....

Some patriotic flag shots....

Madelyn took this one from Roy & Ernestine's seats.

She took this shot from underneath the giant flag on the firetruck.

And this one is a shot of Madelyn watching the fireworks.  I think I blinded her with the flash.

and a couple of fireworks shots...

How do you like my Deployment Survival Cup?  One of the 187th Fighter Wing Wives made it for me.  Well, I'm reminded of what Madelyn said - she didn't really make it, she decorated it.

There are some strange folks in our Sunday School class.  Or should I say, there is a strange Thad in our Sunday School class.
See?!?!  We weren't kidding - Casa Napoli has the same pillows!!

By the way, I would not recommend the new Casa Napoli.  See what had happened was...

Sunday they had meat and 2.  I'm trying to be good so I ordered the Lemon-Crusted Grouper with two choices from the sides listed - baby lima beans and cucumber tomato salad.  The waiter takes our order and heads back to the kitchen.  After a few minutes he comes back and says the capriose salad, or whatever the fancy name is for it, is only available as an extra salad item and would be additional.  I said no, it was listed in the side options and he said, sorry, but you will have to pay extra.  So I said never mind, bring me blackeyed peas instead.  Several more minutes pass and he shows up next to me again, asks if I wanted the grouper blackened or fried.  I told him that I preferred broiled or grilled and he said that wasn't an option, only blackened or fried.  So I asked for blackened.  More time goes by.  He comes back to the table, says that the cook who prepares the blackened fish wasn't there that day and the only option was fried.  I explained that I didn't want fried grouper, I would take the chicken tetrazzini instead.  He left, only to come right back and say they had already prepared my plate with fried grouper.  I told him, as nicely as I could manage, that I did not want fried grouper.  He said it would take an additional 5 minutes and Madelyn's plate was ready, so I told him to bring hers on out and I would wait for mine.  He left, and came right back with two plates with chicken tetrazzini, said it wasn't a problem after all.  By this time, of course, I'm frustrated.  I then see another customer looking disgusted and I hear him ask his waitress if the staff had gone to the river to catch his fish.  It wasn't a good day at the Casa.  The highlight of the visit - the cannoli.  Madelyn certainly enjoyed it!

So....  after lunch we took a quick 20-minute break.  Here's what Mad did with her time...

more selfies

After the quick break we headed out to see Boeing! Boeing! at the Wetumpka Depot.  Here's a shot of us in the dark theatre...

and here's a shot of the expression Madelyn had at least twice that I saw...

We really enjoyed the show.  Brad Sinclair had a lead role and he was very good.  I'm not sure he remembered me.  I was about to tell him that I was 8 months pregnant with the beautiful young lady next to me when we were in our first sketch together, but the line was pressing in on us so I didn't take the time.  Madelyn told me during intermission that he looked like he was about 20 years old on stage.  After she met him she didn't think he was that young!

After we left the play we went straight to Fort Toulouse.  The family day was 3:00-6:00 and the play wasn't over until after 4:30 so we didn't get there until around 5:00.  Almost everyone had left, not many people were there at all.  The only person I recognized was Connie from Wednesday nights.  I did see Charles from a distance and we saw Doc Trog once, but those were the only faces we knew.  I think Madelyn said Reagan Bacon was playing baseball with some others but we didn't go over that way.  We headed for targets and Madelyn shot.  Check it out:

Can you make out the arrow in motion?

She shot for 30-40 minutes and we headed home and....LOADED UP THE BOYZZ!!  We went to visit Dad and Trixie Sunday evening.

Madelyn laughed forever at this expression on Rascal's face.

She thinks Buddy looks possessed in this one.

And look at sweet Buddy in this one...

Rascal was HAPPY!!!

Did you see the Nerf football in Madelyn's hand up there?  I bought it to send to you and Tosh but she won't let me pack it.  She loves it!!  She and I threw for a while at Dad's house and we got pretty darn good with our spirals.  She says she can't wait to go to the beach and throw a spiral to Zach!!

Everyone says Hi and they love you.  We miss you with all our hearts.  Home isn't the same without our man.  Be safe and know that your girls think of you ALL THE TIME.

Love and kisses.
